Created as part of a collaboration between Gobelins and the Musée d'Orsay, this short animated film reimagines Bal du Moulin de la Galette by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Rather than explaining the painting, the project invites viewers to experience its lively atmosphere through immersive sound design and hand-drawn animation. The film begins with an original illustrated scene inspired by Renoir's world before gradually revealing the original artwork. Every animation was drawn frame by frame, creating a tactile, painterly transition between illustration and painting. The project aims to make the artwork feel alive and encourage a more emotional, immersive encounter with the original piece.
