A visual journey in stop motion through the history of mate, accompanied by a voice-over that guides the narrative between past and present. The film tells the story of mate through a text that evokes its journey across time, people, and places. I used a combination of paper-cut sets and real calabashes, filmed frame by frame, to give the object a tangible presence while creating a slightly dreamlike visual universe. The intention is to convey that mate is not just a drink: it is a ritual, a bond between people, a gesture that spans generations.
